Investor KITAS

The Investor KITAS (types 313 and 314) is issued to applicants who invest in a company in Indonesia and need to work for that company.

The Indonesian Investor KITAS has many advantages, including the ease of application and no state fee for a work permit. If you meet all the investment requirements, you do not need to pay a visa fee of USD 1.200 per year. Foreign investors are able to commence operations quickly following their initial investment..

Types of Investor KITAS

  • Index 313: 1-year KITAS
  • Index 314: 2-year KITAS

The visa validity period for both types of investment visas permit multiple entries and exits into Indonesia for the investor.

How to qualify as an Investor

To obtain an investor KITAS you need to meet the following requirements:

  • The investor must have a minimum investment of 1 billion IDR in shares.
  • The capital of the company must be at least 10 billion IDR.
  • The company must have at least 25% of paid-up capital.
  • A PMA (foreign investment company) can serve as a sponsor after obtaining statutory documents, a tax number, permits, and presenting the investment project for review.

Investor KITAS in Bali: how to apply

The process of obtaining an investor KITAS (types 313 and 314) involves several main stages, which will take approximately 2 months in total.

Obtaining an electronic visa (E-Visa)

The first step in getting an Investor KITAS is to obtain a TELEX (TELEX recommendation letter) from the Investment Council in Jakarta.

Requirements for obtaining

The following documents are required for the legalization of the company’s charter:

  • Ministry decree on the legalization of the company’s charter
  • Articles of Association of the company, as well as any recent amendments to the act
  • Business identification number (NIB / Nomor Induk Berusaha)
  • Operating License (Izin Usaha)
  • NPWP taxpayer number
  • Company location permit (Surat Domisili Usaha)
  • Recent Quarterly Business Report (LKPM)
  • Passport and ITAS of the director or KTP (local manager / director ID)
  • Taxpayer ID and NPWP Tax Status Letter of Local Executive / Director

Documents required for issuing TELEX

  • Passport valid for at least 20 months for an annual KITAS and more than 34 months for a two-year KITAS
  • Bank statement showing a minimum balance of USD 1,500
  • Photo in 4×6 cm size
  • Individual tax number and proof of taxpayer status (KSWP, Konfirmasi Status Wajib Pajak)
  • Occupational and health insurance certificate (BPJS ketenagakerjaan, BPJS Kesehatan)

Note: Some investors have the option to cancel their current KITAS, apply for a new investor KITAS, or apply to change their KITAS in Indonesia

Cost

The following fees apply for the registration of a package of documents for an investor KITAS and re-entry permit:

  • Annual investor KITAS: IDR 8 000 000 (~512$)
  • Two-year investor KITAS: IDR 15 000 000 (~960$)
