Visa On Arrival

Visa on Arrival (VOA) to Indonesia - Who Needs It and for How Long It's Issued

The Visa on Arrival (VOA) to Indonesia is a widely-used and convenient option for foreigners visiting the country, especially for those heading to Bali for short-term tourism.

Single-Entry Visa: The VOA is a single-entry visa, which means it becomes invalid once you leave Indonesia.

Duration: Initially valid for 30 days, the VOA can be extended once for an additional 30 days. This allows for a maximum stay of 60 days in Indonesia before you must exit the country.

How to obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA)

You need to start the process 14 working days before your current visa expires. At least 10 working days before the deadline, we must have your passport in our possession.

Visa on Arrival can be obtained through three methods:

  1. Upon arrival at the airport

  2. Online in advance on the website of the Indonesian immigration service

  3. Through our agency

Payment for the visa is made at the airport upon arrival at a designated counter*, either in cash (US dollars, euros, Australian dollars, or Indonesian rupiah) or by card. Subsequently, the visa will be affixed to your passport at the immigration control with the notation “Visa on Arrival” and the date of arrival.

The visa fee is 500 000 IDR (~$35).

To apply for a Visa on Arrival, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Indonesia.

To avoid queues, we recommend obtaining the VOA in advance.

You can do this independently on the website of the Indonesian immigration service: https://molina.imigrasi.go.id

Alternatively, you can use our services. We will process the visa for you quickly, allowing you to focus on preparing for your trip. The processing fee including the visa is 1 000 000 IDR (~$65). All we require is your passport.

How to Extend a VOA (Visa on Arrival) in Bali

If you plan to stay in Indonesia on a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for more than 30 days, you need to extend your visa.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often can I apply for a Visa on Arrival?

There are no official restrictions. However, when regularly departing and arriving back on a Visa on Arrival, immigration officers may inquire why you haven’t applied for long-term visas such as 211A or D1, for instance.

Why is it better to extend the visa through an agency rather than through the Immigration website?

Unfortunately, the Immigration website platform experiences glitches. If you submit documents independently, you’ll have to handle all issues by yourself. An agency won’t be able to assist.

Is it possible to extend my stay in the country without leaving?

If you have an eVOA electronic visa, you can apply for a KITAS for remote workers (E33G) while staying in the country, but several conditions must be met. For more detailed advice, please contact us.

However, if you wish to stay in Bali and apply for a 211A, D1/D2, or D12 visa, you must leave Indonesia after your visa on arrival expires to avoid overstaying, and return with a long-term visa.

Can I leave the country and re-enter on the same Visa on Arrival if it has not expired yet?

No, the VOA is a single-entry visa and is annulled upon departure from the country. For re-entry, you will need to apply for a new visa.
