The Bali Provincial Tax Agency has introduced a vehicle tax relief program.

The Bali Provincial Tax Agency has introduced a vehicle tax relief program. This program waives penalties on vehicle taxes and fees for transferring vehicle ownership. It started on November 1 and will run until December 20, 2024.

This initiative is a token of appreciation to Bali residents who took advantage of similar relief measures last September. It is aimed at individuals with outstanding vehicle tax debts.

As of the end of October 2024, 214,000 vehicles in Bali still had unpaid taxes—82% of these are two-wheeled vehicles, and 18% are four-wheeled. To make the process easier, the deadline for vehicle name changes and transfers, both within the province and beyond, has also been extended. If a vehicle with outstanding taxes is found on the road, police officers will notify the driver and provide guidance on settling unpaid taxes, inform them about the benefits and deadlines of the current tax relief program, and explain the steps for vehicle name changes or transfers. This support aims to help drivers fulfill their tax obligations on time.

The current program is expected to lower the number of vehicles with outstanding tax debts in Bali and raise public awareness about the importance of timely tax payments. No additional relief programs will be offered in 2025.
