Investor KITAS (E28A) is issued to foreigners who invest in a company in Indonesia. It allows business, investment and company-establishment activities, serving as a director or commissioner of the company you have invested in, and supervising the production of goods and services in your company. The holder may not take up employment — only manage their own company.
The Indonesian investors KITAS offers several benefits. The main advantages include easy filing, and no need to pay a state fee for a work permit. If you meet all investment criteria, you also won't need to pay the annual US$1,200 visa fee. Foreign investors can start working soon after making their initial investment.
What is an investor's kitas
KITAS are specialized visas designed for specific purposes, each with unique conditions for eligibility.
Investor KITAS - This visa is granted when you establish your own company, where you will serve as the founder. The key condition: your shareholding in the sponsoring company must be at least Rp10 billion. If it is smaller and you are a director or commissioner, you need a work KITAS instead. The reduction of the PT PMA minimum paid-up capital to Rp2.5 billion does not change this requirement.
