New immigration office opens in Tabanan, Bali

Residents of Tabanan no longer need to travel to Denpasar to handle immigration matters. A new immigration office is now fully operational in the area, providing essential services locally.

Although the office began accepting applications in March, it has now reached full operational capacity, with infrastructure in place and a complete team of specialists. This was confirmed by the Head of Bali’s Regional Immigration Office, Felucia Sengky Ratna.

The office is located in a former district administration building—a decision that allowed authorities to launch operations быстрее and avoid delays associated with new construction.

Services available

The office currently provides a core range of immigration services:

  • For Indonesian citizens: passport issuance and renewal

  • For foreign nationals: visa and stay permit extensions

Why this matters

The opening of the new office reflects the growing number of foreign residents in the region.

According to 2025 data, approximately 153,000 foreign nationals were living in Tabanan. Previously, most of them had to rely on immigration offices in Denpasar, which often resulted in long queues and delays.

With the new office in place, the workload will be distributed more evenly, making the process faster and more convenient for applicants.

Authorities have also announced plans to open another immigration office in Klungkung, which will further improve access to services across Bali.
