Without it, entry into the country is not possible.
The application is completed entirely online without visiting the consulate.

Suitable for tourism and short-term trips
Processing Cost
750,000 IDR (≈ 45–50 USD)

Who Is Eligible
K-ETA is for citizens of the countries and territories that can enter South Korea without a visa: more than 100 in total, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and the EU member states.
The permitted stay depends on nationality. For example: 90 days for citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and France; 6 months for citizens of Canada; up to 60 days in a row for citizens of Russia; up to 30 days in a row for citizens of Kazakhstan.
Until December 31, 2026, citizens of a number of countries are temporarily exempt from K-ETA (the list is set by the Korean Ministry of Justice). The K-ETA portal shows whether the exemption applies when you scan your passport. Exempt travelers may still apply if they want to skip the arrival card on entry.
❗ Citizens of countries that are not on the K-ETA list (for example, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan) cannot use K-ETA and need to apply for a visa through the consulate.
