Requirements for Arrivals in Indonesia with an E33G KITAS
The E33G Visa at a Glance
E33G — a Remote Worker Visa / KITAS for remote workers.
This visa is suitable if you work remotely for a company registered outside Indonesia, and you want to live and work in Bali legally.
It is an offshore visa, which means it is activated only once you enter Indonesia.
The remote worker KITAS is issued for 1 year.
From the visa issue date, you have 90 days, within which you must enter Indonesia.
The issue date is shown on the visa in the field Date of Issue.
What to Do Before Your Flight to Indonesia
1. Check your visa entry deadline
From the visa issue date, you have 90 days, within which you must enter Indonesia.
If you do not enter Indonesia within this period, the visa will become invalid.
The issue date is shown on the visa in the field Date of Issue.
2. Print or save your visa
You can print your visa in advance or save it on your phone so that you have an electronic copy at hand.
You may be asked to show your visa:
At flight check-in;
At boarding;
At passport control.
3. Get travel insurance
Insurance is not a mandatory entry document, but you may be asked to show it.
We recommend getting insurance in advance, as medical care in Indonesia is expensive.
4. Check your Bali Levy exemption
Holders of a KITAS are exempt from the tourist tax Bali Levy.
However, to be exempted from payment, you must apply in advance on the official website and receive approval.
The application must be submitted no later than 5 days before entry.
You can fill out the exemption application here: https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/exception
5. Fill out the All Indonesia declaration
Before entering Indonesia, you must fill out the All Indonesia electronic declaration.
You can fill out the form no earlier than 3 days before arrival, or after landing.
Website for filling it out:
allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id
In the declaration, you need to provide your personal details, flight information, and, where applicable, details about your luggage, cash, electronics, and other items.
Once completed, you will receive a QR code.
Save the QR code on your phone or take a screenshot, as you may be asked to show it at the airport.
If you are carrying cash in the amount of 100,000,000 IDR or more (or the equivalent in another currency), you must declare it.
If you need help filling out the declaration, message us and we can fill it out for you.
6. Your phone and IMEI registration
If you use a foreign SIM card on roaming, you do not need to register your phone.
If you want to use an Indonesian SIM card, your phone must be registered by IMEI:
for stays of up to 90 days, at a mobile operator's store;
for stays longer than 90 days, through customs (Bea Cukai), with a limit of 2 devices per person.
Registration through customs is duty-free only if you register the phone at your arrival airport and its value does not exceed 500 USD. Later, within 60 days of arrival, you can still register the phone, but duties and taxes will apply.
Without registration, an Indonesian SIM card will not work in your phone.
What to Do at the Airport on Arrival
After leaving the plane, follow the signs to the passport control area / Immigration.
On the way, you may see counters where visas on arrival are issued on the spot: Visa on Arrival / VOA.
You do not need to buy this visa, as your E33G visa has already been issued in advance.
Proceed directly to passport control.
1. Passport control
There are two ways to go through passport control at the airport:
Through Autogate automatic gates;
Through an immigration officer.
Which option you use depends on your passport type.
If you have a biometric passport
If you have a biometric passport, you can go through passport control via the automatic gates Autogate.
How to go through Autogate:
Approach the automatic gates.
Scan your passport.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Once you have passed successfully, exit the passport control area.
If you go through Autogate, no stamp is placed in your passport; it will be electronic.
In this case, the electronic Stay Permit will be sent to our email, and we will then upload it to your personal account.
Important: if you went through the automatic gates, be sure to message us right after passing control and include your date of entry.
We need this to check your details, upload the electronic stamp to your personal account, and keep track of your visa validity.
If you do not have a biometric passport
If your passport is not biometric, you cannot use the automatic gates.
In this case, you need to go through passport control with an immigration officer.
Have the following ready:
Passport;
KITAS E33G;
QR code of the All Indonesia declaration;
Insurance, if needed.
If the officer asks about the address on your visa
The address on your visa must fully match the address where you plan to live in Indonesia.
If the passport control officer asks about the address, calmly confirm that you do plan to live at this address during the validity of your KITAS.
After passport control
After passport control, be sure to check the end date of your permitted stay.
If you went through an officer, check the date on the sticker or stamp in your passport.
If you went through Autogate, message us right away to let us know that you have arrived and passed through the automatic gates. Please also include the date you went through passport control.
A little later, we will send you your ITAS. Once you receive it, be sure to check your visa validity period.
If there is an error in the date, contact an immigration officer at the airport right away to have it corrected.
2. Declaration check
After passport control, proceed to the electronic declaration check area.
Here you need to show the All Indonesia declaration QR code.
Usually, simply showing the QR code on your phone is enough.
3. Customs and exit
After the declaration check, you go through customs and exit into the airport's main hall.
From there, you can proceed to the exit, your driver, a taxi, or other transportation.
The E33G KITAS is issued for 1 year.
Be sure to keep track of your visa validity period in your ITAS.
If you plan to extend or reapply for this visa, message us in advance.
The extension process can be started no earlier than 30 days before your KITAS expires.
If your KITAS has already expired, it cannot be extended. In this case, you will need to apply for a new visa.
The process usually takes 2–3 weeks.
If you have moved from the address provided when applying for your KITAS, the address on your KITAS must be updated to your current one. Message us and we will help.
The cost of an address change is 2,000,000 IDR.
If you do not plan to extend your stay in Indonesia, you must close your current KITAS.
There are two ways to close a KITAS:
EPO — onshore, before leaving Indonesia;
ERP — offshore, after leaving Indonesia.
EPO: the onshore process
To close your KITAS through EPO, you need to hand over your passport to us.
Once the KITAS closing process is complete, you can leave Indonesia within 7 days.
If your KITAS expires in less than 7 days, you must leave before your KITAS end date.
ERP: the offshore process
To close your KITAS through ERP, you need to:
Leave Indonesia on your KITAS before it expires;
Send us a photo of your exit stamp;
Send us your departure tickets from Indonesia.
Please keep in mind: without closing your KITAS, you will not be able to obtain any other visa except a VOA, including other types of KITAS.
If you overstay your visa, the fine is:
1,000,000 IDR for each day of overstay.
Please keep track of your visa end date in advance and do not leave the extension until the last day.
After passport control, always check the end date of your permitted stay on the sticker, stamp, or electronic Stay Permit.
If the date is incorrect, contact an immigration officer at the airport right away.
