Ngurah Rai Immigration Office created the DEWATA unit

On September 23, 2026, the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office (Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Khusus TPI Ngurah Rai) created the DEWATA rapid response unit. Its task is to check reports of possible violations by foreigners and to coordinate the actions of officers. The title of the office's press release itself presents it as a response to viral topics involving foreigners.

The team includes specialists in immigration intelligence, law enforcement, monitoring of media and online publications, patrols, public relations, and administrative support.

The unit works in stages. Officers monitor media reports, carry out an initial check, analyze the possible violation, and coordinate their actions. The team then goes to the site and prepares a final report. Internal communication channels, a digital log, and a unified documentation system are used for coordination.

Based on the procedure described, a viral post about a foreigner may become the starting point for an immigration check. The check is preceded by an analysis of the facts and circumstances. The release does not specify response times.
