The latest terms and conditions for travel within Indonesia dated August 25, 2022

Briefly: PCR tests were canceled, but now vaccination is needed for travel within the country.

And now for more details:

It is mandatory to use the PeduliLindung app for trips within the country.

✔️ Travelers 18 years and older must have a third dose of the vaccine (booster).

However, foreigners aged 18 years and older entering the country and continuing their flight (transferring to a domestic flight) it is enough to have a certificate of full vaccination (2 doses).

✔️ Travelers aged 6-17 years must have a certificate of complete vaccination (2 doses).

However, foreigners aged 6-17 years old entering the country and continuing their flight (transferring to a domestic flight) are exempt from the obligation of vaccination.

✔️ Children under 6 years of age are exempt from the vaccination obligation, but must travel with an accompanying person who has fulfilled the provisions on Covid-19 vaccination.

✔️ Travelers with special health conditions or concomitant diseases that do not allow vaccinations are exempt from vaccination requirements, are not required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR test or a rapid antigen test, but must attach a certificate from a doctor from a public hospital stating that this person has not taken and/or cannot take participation in Covid-19 vaccination.

We explain a little bit:

  • If you are flying to Indonesia and you are over 18 years old, then you need to have a certificate of full vaccination (2 doses), a PCR test or booster is not needed if you have a transfer in Jakarta, and the trip is calculated to Bali, for example.

  • Children aged 6-17 are also exempt from the PCR test and are not required to have a full vaccination certificate if they continue the trip (transfer in Jakarta, and the trip is calculated to Bali).

Nuances:

  • the document does not explain what is the maximum period that can elapse from the end of an international flight so that a domestic flight is considered its continuation.

  • the document says everywhere about 2 doses, so it is not yet clear whether it will be possible to fly with a single-phase vaccine, for example, Sputnik Lite, without revaccination.

Most likely, 2 doses = full vaccination.

The situation will become clearer in the coming days.

We will keep you informed 🙏
